The number one mistake you COULD make is wasting time and money on a photographer who can't deliver what you want. Offering JUST digitals may be that the photographer is hiding some crucial flaws in their picture-taking. A true professional is proud to print an image even up to a wall size portrait. Another mistake is trying to do it yourself or using a smartphone. While we LOVE capturing fun moments with our phone just like everyone else, they are not for creating high quality photos that can be used on the wall, in an album, or any number of ways unforseen.

Finding an available day for your appointment is the FIRST STEP. We're staying open later on Tuesdays and on select Saturdays and can even come to your home if desired.
TWO appointment options
Studio Standard
Our Standard Studio appointments are perfect for maternity and newborn portraits and allows for thirty minutes of photography anywhere on our studio property. Our Victorian studio is great for that feel of home while offering scenic garden backdrops for any outdoor photography. Includes private dressing room, luxury studio with a full acre portrait garden.With this option, $199 credit can go toward any of our collections which combines the most popular products we offer.

Location
Our location appointment is offered Tuesdays to Fridays. This extended appointment allows for sixty minutes of photography at our studio or on location. It is perfect for newborns less than 2 weeks old as well as maternity appointments. Select weekend appointments are available for an additional $50. With this option, $299 credit can go toward any of our collections which combines the most popular products we offer.

The studio with its number of rooms to shoot inside and a full acre outside that includes hundreds of backgrounds and unique sets for any age or any occasion. We understand that if you're at ease and having fun, the photos will reflect that. And, did we mention a private dressing room? It should go without saying, but you won't have to change in public or in your car.

As a husband/wife team, we have committed to honoring our clients by treating them as if they are family and as we would want to be treated. The Faces Behind House of Photography
Greg is a nationally published photographer and retired university photography professor of over 29 years. His interest in photography started at age 13. He has a passion for all things photography, especially teaching others.
Cindy graduated from SFA with a degree in Education. She keeps the ship sailing smoothly while steering clear of storms. She is the joy in joyful, the laugh in laughter and the voice on the phone when you call the studio. She is also Greg's wife of 30+ years.
Haley graduated with an Art degree with photography emphasis from Stephen F. Austin. She loves vintage cameras and riding in her hubby's cool Jeep on photography expeditions. Her commitment and loyality reign right along with her awesome red hair.

The Victorian Studio
Our studio is located in the historic Victorian home built for Albert A. Nelson in 1898. The home has seen many changes and owners over the past 100 plus years. It was designed by Diedrich Rulfs, who designed more than 50 homes, churches and buildings in Nacogdoches from the 1880s until the 1920s. Many are listed as Texas Historical Landmarks or National Register Landmarks.
The mere fact that we operate out of this gorgeous home gives our studio an edge others cannot compete with. It's not just the unique look we can achieve from our in-studio portraits either. Our studio is an inviting place where clients and prospective clients alike may leisurely engage in one of our no-obligation consultations. While we get to know you better, your children are free to enjoy the playhouse and play area. This process helps the entire family feel comfortable when the time comes to take portraits.
The Portrait Garden
House of Photography boasts the only portrait garden in all of Deep East Texas. With greenery and colorful blooms year round, our garden includes a beautiful country gazebo, quaint pond complete with waterfall, rock flower beds, arbors, pergola, rock and stone paths.
We often hear clients say that they are utterly amazed at the variety of looks we can achieve from within our garden. And this East Texas secret treasure sits right in the backyard of our charming Victorian Style Studio.
